Join Lapis Room art gallery in welcoming "Plant Medicine // An Altar by Alexandra Bowers." The show begins March 20th and is on view until May 4th, everyday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.
Bowers recently suffered the sudden loss of a beloved pet, and out of the grief and shock she produced works of immense, lush beauty exploring her relationship with herbal cures and how they help her through tough times---like the loss of a friend.
As Bowers herself describes the show, "'Plant Medicine' can mean many different things to many people. When I hear those two words together, I think of my great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother. All women who utilized (and still use, specifically my mom) medicinal herbs to heal physical ailments and wounded hearts. I think of the words when they are separated.
